Flowering Tree Poem by soren Barrett

Flowering Tree

Peach blossoms all around, silently falling to the ground
Sunset clouds of pink, raining coral beauty, the eye to drink
Short the life, quick the bloom, delicate wafts of perfume
Listen in vain for their call, as in torrents petals fall
Behind fading beauty they leave, growing fruit of reprieve
Bursting nectar from the past, nourishment that will last
An old trade for knowledge made, the tree of life to touch forbade
A garden's gift, new buds on branches a pink snow skift
Nature's manna spread on trees, over parting grass seas
All things must pass away, in spring a new crop to display
And so tis with all life, beauty passes in the breezes of strife
