I’m not a fisherman, Smoky, but I can appreciate the call to the outdoors, the solitude, that’s part of it. (See, if you’re curious, my poem Sabbath Reverie.) And I definitely relate to feeling pulled in different directions. Thank God for the wife, the excuse, that allows our hearts and minds to combine those contrary callings into one. I enjoyed this. I am sitting here grinning- - there is something about fishing that goes beyond bringing home a fish to eat- -it is a philosophical, sociological, spiritual retreat necessary for the sanity of mankind... and womankind. Poem makes me want to get some bait and head out to the Pot-Holes [lakes here in Washington state]. 10+++++++
