Fisherman Poem by Matthew Holloway

Fisherman

Rating: 5.0

Like a fisherman I cast my bait
my all, soul, heart and hope
to find that one bite to reel in
a happiness to net and keep
alas the float sunk in shallow water
the swamp of time passes by
like the fisherman's empty net
the lonesome heart untouched
there always come a time
to give up and go home alone
