Loved it! The humor at the end topped it off! I have a friend who always complains about her coffee and I said 'you know what they do when you send coffee back, they spit in it! She hasn't sent hers back again. Therefore, it is far better for you to have tea (hee hee) . 10 Karin Anderson

Sometimes a cup of good ole' black coffee is better than all the fluff. Nothing to hide, just pure and delicious! (Also good medicine for a hangover!) Tasty little poem......................... Linda

Delightful comparisons here - felines and caffeine....(does that rhyme if you say it with a New York accent? Tea, some would agree is far more sophisticated.... :) Justine.

Great metaphors, great poem. I'll take a rich Italian! Although I do like a nice cuppa tea - as long as it's Fair Trade...no lies, doesn't hurt anyone and keeps it's promises. Hugs Anna xxx

An interesting write Charles, one could never get 'browned off' by your poetry. Love Ernestine XXX

Interesting intertwining of the two subjects, and I've certainly had dates with women who, like coffee, were bitter or bland. I didn't always follow your metaphor through the poem - e.g., styrofoam? . Starts right out very strong and has your usual cleverness.

A clever (need to consult thesaurus!) rumination on the title subjects, Chuck... If you were single, I'd say, Find the barrista of your dreams; you'll be in Java Shangri-La! Lots of great lines, but I'm partial to 'or thinks it's all great and hasn't a clue'. Est : ]
