I love wood heat and the work it takes to fuel the flame!

Arousing Nostalgia, dear poet. In the childhood, during winter mornings, how we would burn firewood to keep us warm! Nice haiku. Top score.

When I read the poem and as if I watched a movie then I know for certain that it is a good poem. Your 12 words brought me back to childhood: In addition to the fire the fireplace warmed the frozen fingers of children. Some were crying with pain, but they all had a smile at the end. Thank you

Shall we get the cozy warmness or only the bad smelling smoke and smog? Smoke in our eyes, we are painfully suffering from it. Shall we shout extrovertly or remain suffering introvertly? I love this brilliant poem, Mrs. Juan-Austin! Thank you that you shared. God's Blessings and Peace on Earth. Amen. Now we have here 4 Celcius Degrees.

That is indeed a sign of winter- -both the thought of that wood in a fireplace snapping and crackling gives winter a gentler aspect! ! ! Well done! !
