The fire of God, a flame that burns bright
A fierce and holy blaze, that lights up the night
It burns away the dross, and refines like a test
Purifying the hearts, of those who seek the best
Like tongues of fire, it descended on the day
Of Pentecost, and the church was born in its way
A burning passion, that ignites the soul
Empowering believers, to make the gospel whole
The fire of God, a consuming fire it is
That burns up the chaff, and sets the captives free
It's a refiner's fire, that melts the heart of gold
Making us pure, and holy, as silver and gold
It's the fire of love, that burns in God's heart
A flame that never fades, but forever will start
A burning desire, to draw us close to Him
The fire of God's love, that will never grow dim.
