Great quintessential bush poetry, inspired by her experience on her brothers' farms near Gunnedah, North-West New South Wales. I have enjoyed tremendously

Amazing poem about the bush. Though born in Sydney, she loved the bush life at her brother's farm. She is a great poetess from Australia. Excellent narration 5 Stars

I am writing a book on a particularly wicked fire 10 years in central Texas and find that this poem reflects the resilience of the burnt-over communities. How do I request copyright permission to include it in my book?

True a flame does flicker in the wind and life can to. Very deep thinking.

This life that we call our own Is neither strong nor free ....... Whatever we have of strength, That one more flame may live.....wonderfully written about the agony of earthly life; it reminds me- " man born free but everywhere in chains" ! - fire all over there in life, the earthly greedy life, fire for those who knows only to demand, demand after demand makes the human life unstable and fired unpeaceful

Even if this life is not all our own, the metaphor of a flame blowing out in the wind is rather pessimistic although she ends with some hope that our flame will light another's flame.

Bountiful implications resonate in this simple message. Life is a vulnerable flame, but it must try its best to send its light on an unending journey. More than that, it must try to project its warmth into the future.
