Find Me Some Fire Poem by Dorsey Baker

Find Me Some Fire

She said
Baby I've got to
Move out of your house
And I've got to go
Find me some fire!

She said
Baby this house of yours
It's much too cold
This house of yours
It's much too old!
She said

Baby I've got to move out of your house
And I've got to go!
Find me some fire!

Baby all of your logs
Have all burned up!
And they just didn't
Leave no fire behind
She said baby
I've been looking
For a house with
A fire place
A very long time

She said
Baby I've got to move out of
Your house
And go
Find some place
Where the fire is still burning
Where the flames are still hot
She said
Baby I've been thinking a lot
I've got to go cash my ticket
Before it has time to expire!
Baby I've got to
Move out of your house
And I've got to
Go find me some fire!
