Figure In Black Poem by ed purchla

Figure In Black

In youth
Fingertips torn
Rejects doctor's exam
Fervent attempts at self-repair
Thimbles

Struggle
Refines techniques,
Tuning down to C#
Despite the myth of thicker strings
Thinner

Bar chords,
Power chords, and
Employ of The Triad
Dub this man and his band, metal's
Dark birth.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Comprised of 3 Cinquains. 'In' shouldn't be capitalized. The title is 'Figure in Black.' This site apparently changes that like it does double quotes to single.
