When fear comes close and feels so real,
I have to choose what path to feel.
Do I stay strong and face the fight,
Or run away, into the night?
My heart beats fast, my body shakes,
A choice that every moment makes.
Do I stand tall or turn around,
Leave my worries safe and sound?
In fighting, I find strength inside,
In running, I let fear decide.
Both choices hard, but deep within,
The answer comes, I choose to win.
To face my fears or let them win,
Each has a price, each choice within.
But courage leads, through darkest night,
And helps me choose: fight or flight.
This poem brings out the inner conflict in decision making excellently and effectively. As The Bard said, it is about "to be or not to be'.. when fear takes over, we flee. And we lose. When we decide to fight back, our world changes
