In endless feasts and grand arrays,
Men enjoy their special days,
Yet life is filled with acute pain,
And hope alone helps men sustain. (1)
Some hopes fade, while some come true,
Yet new ones rise, both bright and new.
In life as fire and wants as breeze,
Men thrive with hope, let them please.
