Today I let my wings spread, 
They were white against the sunlight, 
Big and wide were they, 
Today I let myself feel, 
As if the lock on my heart was broken off, 
I let the tears come down, 
Today I held nothing back, 
I screamed and laughed, 
I cried and let go, 
For the first time today, 
Today I didn't have to beg, 
Today I didn't have to kneel, 
Today I didn't give up, 
Today I let my wings spread, 
They were white against the sunlight, 
Big and wide were they,
