A brahmin is joyous
by a sumptuous meal,
a peacock is ecstatic
by thunder peal.
A thief is happy
in a moonless sky,
a teacher is happy
as student achieves high.
A cow is satisfied by grazing
on a pasture of grass,
A benevolent and wise man
is cheery at the prosperity
and joy of others.
A wife is happy
when husband is besides,
the flowers are happy
as spring arrives.
The lotus is happy
when the sun rises,
the children are happy
with their parents.
But a crow is never satiated
with any good food,
contentment comes only
on eating the poop.
The wicked man is
like a crow by nature,
gets satisfied either by
listening ill of others
or by blaming another.
Nabakishore, your wonderful poem draws a clear contrast between the good and the evil. Great writing! 5 stars.
