In my reread of this soulful poem, I've come to appreciate it even more. Since that time, some friends have moved on to The Great Beyond. In having experienced that bluesy mood, I was able to more fully appreciate the precious value of those great friendships.

This poem is perfection, Susan. Yes, one of our social problems is that so many people, mostly professionals, seem to think feeling down is a problem. These are the same people who tend to say that 'you're not what you feel." Irony? This goes to myfavourites!

Thank you, Mj, , , , it seems odd to me to be told we should ignore our feelings and try to erase them from our set of behaviors/emotions... we feel them for a reason and we should explore them, embrace them or at least understand them before banishing them to the corner! Thank you for faving it! ! ! !

very amazing poetic metaphor can be found in this stanza: well done susan tomorrow we can dance in the rain but today we can watch it rain and trace its lonely tears down our windowpane 10++++++++++++++

I have been sooooooooooooooo AWOL from PH, as well as my mailbox that I didn't know until now that this poem had been honored with its second Poem of the Day on Nov.13. I am so buried in writing my book series and making doctors very wealthy that I missed all your beautiful comments! ! ! ! God bless you all!

Yes it is better to let blue take over you for a short while and work to shake it off when one is ready for it- mentally, physically and emotionally. Nothing lasts for ever. Congratulations for a lovely poem that touches on our feelings with so much honesty and reality.

Hey, Susan! Good to see your name in this category. I know the feeling— Why let some forced happiness stain the melancholy brought on by rain? -GK

Indeed! ! ! A good melancholy is hard to find and keep cuz people are always trying to talk you out of keeping it around :)
