Feeling Betrayed Poem by Ray Hansell

Feeling Betrayed

She was sitting there at home
Waiting for him to call
She sat there with her phone
Hoping she don't fall

He told her he would call
He even said, for sure
She doesn't know how much more
That she can endure

Time after time he tells her things
But he never follows through
That's when you start believing
That there's something wrong with you

But you don't want to give up
Because of the way you feel
But you must always remember
Feelings from another you can't steal

Either he cares or he doesn't
The way he feels is up to him
No need to feel the situation
Is ever really grim

The life you live is for you
Don't live just to please others
Always be at peace in the night
When you go to sleep under the covers
