The Good Samaritan feeding street cats in need
Cats that meow and look at food as they plead
The Good Samaritan does keep street cats alive
Cats that - like him - do not let begging subside
For street cats vitally need their food
And pregnant street cats do brood
Needing desperately maternity food
For their growing kittens to be strong and healthy
For even street cats need food like the wealthy
Their kittens when born taken into safe shelters
To become their real selves of strong, happy and healthy
Whereas cats that do stay on the rough street
Need to be safe from every stranger they meet
And these cats are right to be wary
Some human strangers aggressive and scary
Their intentions evil and their methods unbelievable
However cats are deeply intuitive and clever
Surviving in all kinds of shocking weather
And attacking humans that do intend harm
But the cat did painfully scratch his arm
And the cat did run away and send the alarm
The stranger apprehended and punished by the law
For animal abuse leaves the perpetrator more than sore
The street life of cats to warrant nice applause.
