WOW this poem is like the sonnet by Rilke that ends YOU MUST CHANGE YOUR LIFE. Your poetic vision in this poem is shining, with very little extra imagery to distract from the moral resolution. There's something it was important to say, now there is something important to do. For a poem that has the word DEATH buried inside the title, this poem is really 100% affirmation of life. Sometimes the poet has to walk on a very narrow edge so that she can credibly say what has to be said. Unless she has made that dangerous journey herself, she can cannot speak to others. Well, all that background stuff has been done by you in this poem. It's a watershed poem, it turns a page, and it's a clean, fresh page for your next poem! !
