Fatherly gesture

I could have taken over the helm of affairs
and acted fairly
apart from giving a fatherly embrace
and always tried to give you a smile on the face
I played both the roles
as mother and father to respond in time's call
never bothered about health's fall
but always attempted to scale the wall
I knew' if I showed my emotional breakdown'
it could create imbalance and slow down'
brought you to some irreparable losses
that I chose to be a stubborn father
I was prepared to work in an open field
i was trying hard to break hard stones and held
a firm resolve to bring you up in such a manner
that you could stand on your feet hereafter
daily I give you patting and an emotional hug
so that you stand firm on the rug
think about impending changes
and manage well
