The time frame in this poem - unless I'm missing some lines - goes from morning immediately to night. I can't tell why. And it appears the nightscape stirs the animals into movement and communication. Is the word FARM meant metaphorically? Is the setting really the wilderness and the animals in their natural habitat? Or are these domesticated animals feeling animal solidarity in their human-controlled environment? Questions abound!
