I saw the light flee from your eyes;
Here you are cold and still lying.
I sit here left to only mourn and cry.
Darkness now is falling;
And the light fades away.
Other roads are now calling;
And I must leave you here to stay.
On the darkest roads we have tread;
In the burning cold and sunless day.
In empty lands that are black and dead;
In the golden summers' light.
And green fields and lush homesteads;
In strife and toil and darkest night.
We have come all this way;
But you can go on no longer;
And now comes the day;
Despite all our distant wanders;
That we must part our ways.
As if I am under a spell;
I have nothing to say.
