Farewell Dear Souls Poem by Matthew Holloway

Farewell Dear Souls

Farewell dear souls
I wish you the happiest of endings
That which escaped me
My unending sadness
I pray in my absence
That hate, racism, sexism
Judgement od any life choice
Faith, Sex, Sport, Music
All appear to be weapons of war
Hatred, spite, anger, rage
The waters of this earth are polluted
And nurture nothing
There is little beauty here
In an unsocial media
Of which I wish but an unable to quit
So a farewell is pardoned, delayed
But dreams of the escape
The freedom of which
Fires the soul
Is but a dim light growing old
