Fangs Poem by Alison Mujati

Fangs

Rating: 5.0

In every birth, a spark divine,
A crest of greatness that in time will shine,
A promise of potential, a beauty to design,
A fresh beginning, where love and hope entwine.

But who has brought this darkness to our door?
This evil eye that haunts humanity once more?
The garden of Eden, once a paradise serene,
Now tainted by the serpents that in shadows are seen.
Yet still, amidst the ruin, flowers bloom in spring,
A testament to hope, a promise that love will sing.

Behind the beauty, monsters lurk and breathe,
Their fiery wrath, a danger that we cannot leave,
For in the hearts of humans, a duality resides,
A capacity for love, and a penchant for pride.
He who sees a fellow man, sees a mirrored soul,
A reflection of our shared humanity's goal.

But power and corruption, a toxic brew,
Have turned dominion into a threat, anew,
We fail to trust, and in innocent faces, we see,
A potential danger, a risk to you and me.
The crown jewels, stained with blood and pain,
A legacy of greed, a heart that's lost its way in vain.

Who can claim innocence, in this world of strife?
Who can testify, to a heart that's free from life?
Money and power, a deadly, toxic stain,
Have turned humanity, into a monster, driven by gain.
Women and men, reduced to harlots and to thieves,
A world where love's a distant memory, a fleeting breeze.

In the shadows, darkness reigns, a world astray,
Where love's a distant refrain, a fading ray,
The fangs of greed, they pierce the soul,
Leaving scars that never fully unfold.
Yet still we search, for a glimmer of hope's light,
A chance to redeem, to start anew, to take flight.
A chance to rise above, the evil that we see,
To find the love and kindness, that's meant to be.
