Fan Base Poem by Lauren Coles

I'm not just writing to entertain you,
I might not know your name or your story,
But it doesn't matter to me,
There's fewer stories that are hopeful these days,
I might be in a wheelchair but I don't want that to be all that I'm known for,
I want people to talk positive about me at my funeral,
I want to show people what I can do rather than what I can't do,
I want to give people a reason to get up in the morning,
The things that I love to write about are morals in life that parents aren't teaching their kids what they need to learn,
Lessons like giving back to your community,
Lessons like tolerance,
Lessons like believing in yourself even though people say you can't,
We all can learn from each other and grow stronger through tragic experiences,
I'm here for you and open the door to opportunities,
No question is off limits.
