My caveate would be that 'ability' is the capacity to do the job of art (for which I accept as valid your definition) - but does not necessarily translate as the action of doing so. Thinking in this way might lead one to alter your synthesis to something like: art is the PRACTICE of putting beauty into everything - a phrase not so well-turned as yours but perhaps a tad more accurate.
