Family Poem by Sheena Blackhall

Family

My parents were second cousins
Their grandmothers were sisters
My brother and I, home goals,
Grew up to be misfitters

Bach followed this family pattern
As did Russia's Catherine the Great
Along with Albert Einstein
A cosy wedded state

Marie Antoinette was another
Who kept things en famille
Edgar Allan Poe did likewise
Two spokes of a ferris wheel

It saves on marriage invites,
For the guests, there is no doubt
No skeletons lurk in the cupboards
You know them inside out
