Family Poem by Felix Emeka George

Family

Rating: 3.5

When I was a child,
I believed.
I bounced from tree to tree jocundly
And from wall to wall,
in all houses, blessed.
Unafraid of anything,
because my childhood was a great gift from God.
Born to my great grand parents
Who were friends, since fresh out of wombs.
To be our props,
was simply the best call.

Like the branches on a tree. leaves giving life,
Grand mother stayed in the playing light
With all the silly things I made her bear.
All for us in one home stead care
We grew all together,
facing life in different directions,
Yet our roots remain together forever.
My family my unconditional love.
