I like the tempo and visualizations here..... You have the making of a good poet Christopher. A suggestion for the wise, though: Try writing this same poem and same emotion in third person. Writing in first person really only tells the reader what you feel about this or that, or how you handle this or that. You must include the reader, make him part of your vision sometimes. Human emotions are vast, true, but they are generally experienced by everyone at some time or another. The reader should feel your words. The reader should vision his sky turning blue, and feel his heart beating like rain drops.... I think 90% of poetry is emotion, a most important element to poetry. But it is not the writer's emotion - but the readers emotion that counts... Make him own these emotions, instead of casually reading about your own emotions. I think that might help you incredibly...

Beautiful and evocative, so sad and yet optimistic. Best wishes with your writing.
