Fallen Star Poem by Timber Koleden

Fallen Star

For time untold I blazed on high
Light 'neath my wings, I brightened thy sky
When thee walked in shadows of night
I shone o'er thee and made the blackness bright

The years have passed away in speed
On the seas thou look'd to me in need
The kings of old headed my blaze
My icy glow, subject of astronomers gaze

Didst thou ever think to ask of me
Whether I wanted to shine so bright for thee
Didst thou ever consider me
As a creature shining selflessly

Behold! I shone till my wings crack'd
My flame did burn till all strength I lack'd
Then like lightning flash, swift and embered
I died and fell to earth, ne'er to be remembered

The earth was split beneath my wreck
My body was smitten on mountain cleft
In the shadows of thy world
My fire was quench'd where my body will broken lie
