Hi Ivor! Tom Mariani said it all; you know what you are doing! ! Great write! (10) ! ! !
According to the two large maple trees right outside my window, your poem is right on time. A lot of other things are right about it too. I appreciate the use of what I call internal rhyme. That is, words rhyming within lines, not just at the end. So, as they say in gymnastics, I'll give you a 9.5 for style. As for content, the numbers don't go up high enough. I had never thought of leaves in nature's cycle demonstrating 'dues they owe must be repaid'. Our local paper is re-running daily cartoons of the late Charles Schulz. He lived here in Santa Rosa too. Recently one of his Peanuts characters is watching a single leaf fall off a tree and land on the ground. The caption is 'I HOPE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING! ' It is very apparent you know what you are doing. Keep doing it. Tom
Beautiful, Colin J...
