I like the poem. I'm not much of a classicist. I don't why. As I started reading this I immediately started rearranging it in my mind as a villanelle. Not strict, no concern with rhyme. Just the repetition of the 1st and 3rd lines in the proper places. It actually works pretty well that way. No offense meant to the poem as you've written it, I like it. It's good. Sometimes my mind just has a mind of its own, that's all.

How beautifully elaborated. The theme of life and death cannot be presented more wisely. I love the image of a falcon enjoying perfect freedom in flying but like all things mortal, he must come down too. A great piece of writing. A huge 10.
