Fairy Dance Part 4 (The Fairy-Lads And Lasses) Poem by Isadora Quagmire

Fairy Dance Part 4 (The Fairy-Lads And Lasses)

The fairy-lads, with hair like spun moonlight,
In tunics green, or robes of russet brown,
With eyes like distant stars, so keen and bright,
And crowns of berries, freshly gathered down.
They leap and whirl, with laughter light and clear,
Their spritesome joy on every breeze is borne,
Dispelling shadows, bringing woodland creatures near,
From eventide until the waking morn.

And fairy-lasses, graceful, swift, and slight,
With wings like dragonflies, of iridescent sheen,
Their gowns of petals, woven soft and light,
Are jewelled with dew-drops, by the moon unseen.
They weave through circles, hand in tiny hand,
Their silver bells a tinkle, faint and sweet,
The joyous queens of all the hidden land,
With nimble magic in their dancing feet.
