Fading Stars Poem by Muhammad Umair

Fading Stars

I behold the sky, and it's empty;
The stars were there and that too plenty.
Shining and dancing were they together;
Promised as if they'd be around forever.

Beholding the stars, I felt safe and brave
And never did I think of anything grave.
One after the other, they were sublime;
I, proudly, looked at them time after time.

Let the fading one be me
If the stars cannot be.
How will I survive without my stars,
For dreadful I become after seeing my scars!

One day, all stars will have to disappear or die
And I should get used to beholding the empty sky.
