David... i think you had the ladys crying with this one...10
Ahh David this is heart-breaking, how terribly sad. I can picture the poor girl standing there with the tears welling up in her eyes and flowing down her face. The imagry is fantastic in this piece. I'm sitting in the church looking at her wishing I could help. You are a fabulous poet and I love the title. I just love that word 'Faded' another good one David. A big (10) from me. Now I must go back to bed.---Melvina---
We all are waiting it seems for something but some of us are just waiting on the pain to go away. I loved this poem, loved it David. Well done. Hugs Pam
'As the hopes he'll still come fade like the roses' - a sad refrain, but one that is so familiar. How much time we waste waiting for something that never happens. Maybe tomorrow? To be stood up on your wedding day - the ultimate humiliation. Heart breaking read, David. Linda
David, your faded red roses remind me of Mrs Haversham, abandonned on her wedding night and the inspiration for Dickens' sublime Great Expectations. Such a sad, poignant story - beautifully told. love, Allie xxxx
David! This is utterly heart-wrenching (and not an unfamiliar story) ... a wonderful penning. t x
