Eyes That Cannot See Poem by Leslie Ledoux

Eyes That Cannot See

When a person moves through time,
They're reborn in form, but not in mind—
A new face, a brand-new start,
But the same old soul, the same old heart.

The body may change, the name may fade,
But essence and spirit remain the same.
Without the heart, the eyes can lie,
Drawn to beauty that quickly dies.

He was given fifteen years to see,
To learn to love more truthfully.
But behind each face were shifting lies—
A man who only loved with eyes.

He proved his heart could never feel,
His love was shallow, never real.

So he remains a beast inside,
Where light can't reach and love can't hide.
All that's left are silent scars—
Her only comfort beneath the stars.
