Lovely little lyrics ripple
On the naughty tides of your eyes
When you smile,
Living ashore rhythmic raptures
And transmitting doubts when mischievous.
When angry, they redden like a furnace
And pass out furies in flames
As if to devour all that comes across.
Then heavy with burdens
In the lone solitary confinement
Of a language unshared, excommunicated,
Misunderstood most often,
They look tired, rather calm
In the blankness of expression
And shrink sometimes in cold disdain.
In the pink promise of the depth
Of desire, primitive and plain,
Your hungry passionate eyes expose
The warm inviting horizons
Of a dreamy intoxication,
Where one can dive in, ecstatic
Even in the midst of storms
To search for the pearls
Of some unexhausted poetic diction.
