The dawn of barbarism shines on no heroic or golden ages, but on nightmares to make us scream in our sleep. Well done, I love it.

a followup to my previous comment. i OF COURSE do not believe all humans are killers, though plenty have been coerced, fooled, scared, or lulled into killing. then there are those who actually seem to enjoy it or can't help themselves (they are mentally ill? ?) . some who may be usually peaceful, kill because of anger, revenge, greed, fear, nationalism, religion, lack of religion, hunger, drugs, etc. BUT others are truly PEACEFUL, and some even go out of their way sometimes to promote peace. i tend to be peaceful, but i can easily understand how people can be mean and even kill. we ARE animals. i guess i should end there.

am i missing something? ? ? flashes? ? ? but two readers repeat the word in their comments as though flashes is a food. i never heard of it. may i please suggest that the poet meant to type FLESHES? i like this poem a lot, despite flashes! , and i have some other observations/ideas. : Cro-Magnon to Homo-erectus...........i agree with another comment, that there may be no record, at least not written, of cannibalism. but why shouldn't there be cannibalism? a guy has to eat. correct? oh, now i remember, we humans are supposed to be above all that. we are SPECIAL! well, to us we are special, and PERHAPS, if there is a God, He/She believes we are SPECIAL. but i'm not so sure. AND i don't think it is any secret these days that men/women kill men/women. and not only in war, but also in domestic rage, robberies, or lapses of good mental health. i didn't think it was a secret, especially if one reads the news. don't get me wrong! i still like the poem. i think it is well-constructed etc. but i don't agree with parts of it. are predators of the animal world, like lions, hawks, frogs, snakes, sharks, and some insects to be tolerated any more or any less because they generally (i think) eat members of species other than their own? ? ? ? i do like the part about the clothing. i think it is funny. i DO agree that men should admit that they are not totally different than the 'LOWER' animals. thanks Gulsher for sharing. bri

It seems, at times, that history has taught us nothing whatsoever. A thoughtful piece.

This really is a brilliant poem. Mankind is the worst of all the species to inhabit this planet.

WOW! ! ! We humans think we are too much, is not? ? ? But We need as many layers of varnish to cover up our true nature! ! Such a shame sometimes poet for human race! ! ! ! I dont see evolution but obligation by the laws and by the system to appear good! Within our heart, we are the same brutal from the beginning of the world. Very expressive Poem. Thanks for sharing.

we are fostering a devil inside, ”...so true, theme is bit misanthropic but not apart to reality.so powerful, so forcible in nature but this fact still need to be revealed? “We slaughtered our fellows and dinned on their flashes”...well written

We do get pulled in by issues of least importance to our survival on this planet. We may be most evolved, and think we have left many primal ways behind us, but in the end we are a species, controlled by wider forces that only Father Time will thathum. Our time on this dear earth is yet still short, but look how we have marred her beautiful Face. Look at how those who crave power, with extraordinary resources of a dexterous doing, have set in motion a spiral of self distruct. We do not nurture the natural order of things. We fight it, flatten it, make it fit our every need. We are a little out of control to say the least. Thought provoking as usual, sweet Yoda! X

A powerful indictment of what fosters our gullible illusion of safety in materialistic pleasures are a fallacy of errors, what you say about a devil in us is bang on, their is a creature lurking within all of us that acts in a manner that threatens our good. I cant help but see traces of pessimism hear, with only dim flourishes of hope. A savage creature evolved through ages is a great line and I cant help but agree one hundred percent with that assessment, perhaps we will evolve to something better. A great Work your language is wise

What a bash of criticism on the human creed..more of a heartfelt expression over the inner savage of human being. The lines hold a force.....very impressive. Very well written...how we nurture the devil inside and envenom the world around...amazing concept...in today's date and age its the dire need to face the truth because this is all human society is coming up with. Well Done Gulsher!

you look in term of nature that still suggested by people not by truest story Hmm how sure they are...nothing is conclusive before the real things revelead If there was a true record about people evolution of people however it interesting that we can know if they really slaughter and dinned their own people SO do you also cover your skin with that expensive stuff? ? ? hahahawe dont need it really why dont you see that we actually evolved in manner, not in good way at least people before wear something to show their grace of self people nowadays buy something to wear because of brand though it expose self more than them a small cloth can be expensive than meters of cloth so we can look in a view of human behavior political, words, greediness actually are more than before the past era do we evolving the era from median to worst just better in body features only..ask yourself_Soul

Primitive human nature can persist despite civilization because of the instincts that remain for survival.
