It might be worth the bite of evil, to be your lover!

I do not have any idea about the background of this poem but I like the poem for its imagery and its sheer poetic beauty.

I opened the diary of her mind, as this dark woman, came into my life and I turned her pages only to find, a tortured soul that is filled with strife. Loved this poem from the first stanza, loved the 'penned on her pages in blood red ink', loved the 'She’s petrified, of what others might think, If they read her mind and witness her doubt.' The more I read the interactions within this poem the more I like it. Nice write Amera.

Great poem. Nice hook, and the way the character/perspective shifts around really makes the reader try to pay attention and turn their head to the side like a dog to try and understand. Just enough rhyme to get it moving...I was surprised and actually liked this one.

Nicely penned with lovely rhyme scheme. A beautiful poem, well articulated and insightfully written with conviction. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.

Very beautiful Amera. Sounds like he strayed a bit - walked into something evil..... Well written, protective, and simply beautiful.. To me it expresses true love.

You have a gift. Perhaps it's the New Jersey doppelganger of verse. I can identify with it. Keep writing!

Nice poem Amera. I enjoyed reading it, especially the couplet, which gives it clout. Not many poems on Poemhunter with this quality..
