Everywhere With me Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Everywhere With me

Talking is not enough
I want to be able to pick you up &
Take you everywhere.
Regardless if I am busy
Either one of my hands can bring
comfort after a long day,
Stretching your voice from one ear
to the next, hands free in Bluetooth capability.
The comfort of knowing you're there
is enough.
Just being around you is enough.
If I were to lose you I'd go crazy
frantically looking for a charger,
a signal, a connection that desperately seeks to reestablish where we left off.
The best part is your face popping
up on my screen.
Dissolving into the technological
advances and heart throbbing
palpitations my day has waited for.
Talking is not enough, I'd lose my mind
if I were to reach down & you weren't
by my side. I'd tear the place apart
looking for you.
However urgent,
When your name and face broadcasts
across my screen everything shuts down.
The truth remains, I know that you're
not that far.
I know that somewhere in the world
Through whatever scientific oddity.
I am forever grateful to be able
to dial you & take you
everywhere with me
