Everything Poem by Mark Heathcote

Everything

Baby don't be afraid of black ghosts
The angels are always near, close
Just open your eyes don't be, afraid
Let them open to the sunlit skies
To the stars that sink into your soul.

Baby soak up the moonbeams
Of this life, life is your parade
Don't let those monsters enter your skin
Open your heart to love
And send them black ghost packing.

Because of you, we are strong
When it's midnight, that's the time
To show you have faith in all you know
And make a stand and make love
Love to all the sadness darkness

That hides and sinks in quicksand.
Stand proud and firm, wipe away your tears
Baby don't be afraid of black ghosts
You know who you are
And you are everything if you're willing to be saved.

And baby don't harbour hate
Garden faith in a better tomorrow
And grow, let all those black ghosts go
Winter will have its time, but spring
Will always have warmer climes for us to climb.
