I am a singular human being.
I go through the motions of life, -
Eating, sleeping, walking, working-
But am unaffected by them.
With an immovable sense of self,
And a cold heart,
I receive criticism and advice,
Praise and ridicule.
I remain unchanged, unhurt, certain.
But, every once in a while,
I feel an indescribable pang in my heart
When it skips a beat or speeds up suddenly.
Every once in a while
My mind races, filled with contradictions
And innumerable thoughts I cannot comprehend.
Every once in a while
I am reminded of you.
Unawares, you wield the God-like power to make me happy within seconds
So I fear a you; fear my dependency on you.
Is it fair that one so blind can hold in their hands
My heart-my love-
My life, but not my trust?
