Everlasting Eclipse (Recommended) Poem by Ridah Ellahi

Everlasting Eclipse (Recommended)

Rating: 5.0

My heart protected,
Behind a shield of tears.
A shield you forced me to break.
I offered you my heart,
In the palm of my hand.
I told you I bleed.
But you can only see the fake façade.
You paid no heed.
I ripped myself apart,
In the hope you’d hear me cry.
But you remained oblivious.
Well, you didn’t even try.
Where is the love,
You once had for me?
The love that made my heart beat.
The love that made me breathe.
I see it fading away.
I see another catastrophe looming.
This rose is now wilting;
It’s no longer blooming.
I tell myself,
It will all get better.
I force myself,
To believe the lie.
I force myself to believe,
That our love will return.
I won’t have to fake the sentiments.
Won’t have to lie,
Every time I say “I love you.”
I ask for your help,
You tell me to hang on to the hope,
Of a better tomorrow.
A freedom from my suffering,
A victory over my sorrow.
But how can I hope for the sun to shine,
From, what I now believe,
Is an everlasting eclipse…

the perpetual agony of love and unfulfilled dreams are a torment... peolple writ about it all the time yet it is palatable and consuming...in a diabolic and dark way very nice lines greatly appreciated 10 cheers
