Verse 1
I go through life with a chip upon my shoulder
Because of the weights of these boulders
Getting a tad bit colder with every year that I'm
Growing older I liked a girl but I never did get a
Chance to tell her and I know at least two others
Trying to fight off their cancers
Praying to God hoping that he'll send them some
Answers I'm just a man living inside a cold world
Trying to find myself a gold pearl and
A time machine to when they were smiling
And at their happiest lately I've been at my
Snappiest while being a good disciple advocate
But the wickedness of the world is clearly not
Having it or any calls for any action bits
Though it seems that the righteous are slowly
Gaining traction to a degree or at least a fraction
It's crazy watching the banks fall to foreclosure
Under the weight of the housing markets
Never thought I'd see America at her darkest
In the midst of darkness within the land of the
Heartless Richie, It's not a good time to be an
Artist people trying to take away creativity
Will a true Artist ever see longevity?
That question weighs upon my mind quite heavily
Verse 2
We're living in a new world where people are not
Sure how to feel people are hardly even keeled
Too many are being silenced in the midst of
Violence or even killed that should gives you chills
I know that truly makes me ill
While painting vivid pictures upon the canvass still
Watch how my brain grills through the Cabbage
And the constant baggage that I'm forced to carry
As the world evolves there's no time to tarry
Although change can become quite scary
We as a people have to keep our resolve
That's the only way we can problem solve
Though many years in and still no problems are
Solved due too many distractions
Too many are hardly active
Rather taking the lighter route of being passive
Or passively aggressively aggressive
Verse 3
Now there was a time when other countries looked at
Our military with honor and some with horror
There was a time in America you couldn't ignore her
Now people are looking at us in dishonor
As we get closer to a draft
Americans it's time to act
Uncle Sam keeps telling us it's time to give back
As they keep raising up the property taxes
Not caring about how it's affecting the masses
While igniting us up with the solar gases
We as a people are so intent of staying divided
To the point we're all subdivided into a subdivision
But not many are willing to listen
Or see ourselves constantly being put in a prism
While trying to shed some light on some things
Along with insight and intensity
This isn't about picking sides
Although that are people's tendencies
The higher-ups tends to feed into these
No matter if you're for the left or the right
Though they tell us that we have no choice
But to choose as they seek out people's
Tendencies with urgency
Verse 4
Now I know that it has been a minute
That I've written a page, the pen has been replenished
While letting my raw emotions take center stage
But within the Heart of America I can feel her
Bitter rage In the midst of all the mass hysteria
As people spread their fake news and Criteria
Not yet realizing that we're all headed to
A totalitarian Dystopia
But yet people don't see the bigger picture
Or blatantly don't want to see it
And by the time they do it might be a tad
To late, But will people truly accept that fate?
Or have the heart and willingness to escape?
In the end what would we have gained?
In the end I'm just trying to breathe in
New life inside of your silky veins
I'm just trying to give you that liquid courage
Because in the world we're so easily discouraged
In the midst of all the uncertainty
The fate of America is constantly concerning me
With anxiousness burning deeply inside of me
Just Richie's fierceness as he fights back at
Atrocities at high velocity due to their toxicity
Though people never be acknowledging as
I watch haters and doubters within my proximity
I've just been looking for friends to befriend
Richie you need tougher skin
Within the howling wind and the Winter's chill
Just letting every poet know to stay even keel
