Evening In My Village Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Evening In My Village

Rating: 5.0

Evening time
Lamps are lit before
The gods and prayed are sung
Wind blows across the plains
And shadows starts falling long

Farmers are back
From the fields and sitting
In verandahs in creaking cots
Silently dozing and relaxing

The moon is up
In the sky and sheds its glow
Upon the fields and the barns
Where hay is staked in rows

Riverside is silent
Folks are back to their dens
It is time to light the hearths
And cook with pots and pans

The natural scenery of village life in the evening is brilliantly captured in this poem.
