Βarry dear. This is really a great poem.It sounded me as an apocalypse.Just note a few commentary words for me on the last stanza.Do you refer to Aphrodite, the apple[' s kiss] to the most beautiful or....
Perhaps a better answer is that I see Eve's apple and Aphrodite's golden apple as the same apple basically. And Eve and Aphrodite as the same woman or goddess.

I identify Eve with the goddess element and with Aphrodite but this poem is really all about Eve.
It's a very poignant poem from a Woman's angle. how much suffering has this story caused throughout the ages. i prefer goddesses myself! A very fine and thoughtful poem, Barry.
