Ersatz Homme Poem by Stefan Splawinski

Ersatz Homme

have we lived such a lie
that after a million years
we had it all so very wrong
the dawn of a new age nears

has the modern world only
female destiny comprehended
all mistakes of the past
now by dictate amended

womyn were then mistaken
instead of kin now wages
slave to clock and ledger
contradiction of the ages

forget innate differences
the laws of biology defied
the needs of the economy
womans nature thus denied

dare the issue be raised
for reasons most tender
they are not all the same
thats the point of gender

those who organised man
instilled the will to live
thank those living beyond
applaud them who freely give

queried throughout time
a meaning for this life
eliminate all differences
you do away with strife

never believe for a minute
to such folly do not yield
maintain your good humanity
keep a level playing field

always remember the dead
never forget the unborn
feel sorrow for organisms
those from tradition torn

who could really postulate
sheep and goats are equal
without a base of existence
prepare civilisations sequel
