Rating: 5.0

Life, like a practiced comedian on the stage
Keeps smiling and frowning in turn
Under the embers of joy that spark from our hearts
There lies the pulverized heap of shattered dreams

A BRILLIANT MODERN POEM... It seems my lap top almost automatically decided on the caps... Just one thing, if 'joy is a passing phase', so are sorrows. Man's essential nature is bliss, which is there if he's in touch with his true self. Yes, one need be a stoic, sthita-prajna, as B.Geeta said.

Trials and sorrows predominate in life And joy is only a passing phase We are dragged down even by little things And the trivial sometimes assumes demoniac dimensions.....so true. You have made an insightful inscription on life incisively. Truth inside life is well executed. A brilliant poem is amazingly shared.10

A very thoughtful poem. At every step of the way we learn these lessons and become better equipped to deal with our joys and sorrows. At least that is the hope till some thing happens to remind how though this road is.

Trials and sorrows predominate in life And joy is only a passing phase The truth of life is beautifully brought out in your poem. This erratic beauty is what we call exotic beauty sometimes. Life is eventually what we savor out of it. Thank you.

Very true, often times, life is like a tight rope to walk, while other times it's all challenges and trials but hard or soft it's life and have to cope...!

Truly life is indeed a heap of shattered dreams, and 'joy is only a passing phase'. Your this line in the poem is very much a reiteration of Thomas Hardy's narrative in his novel 'Tess' wherein he observes that happiness is an occasional episode in general drama of pain and suffering.

The short interval of joy that comes after a long painful period is more pleasant than any other thing we see, we feel and we react in our life. Valsa is a great hunter of beauty and capable of capturing the beautiful eyed deer alive without giving them a wound.

We should stoically face life's challenges and trials And cherish, at any chance the short intervals of joy Life is beautiful in-spite of all the hurdles, Bearing it with a big broad smile and never giving in to the hardships. Beautifully written showing all the shades of life. My compliments for this thought provoking poem.10 seems less for this poem.
