Ernest Hemingway's Advice Poem by Roger Gerald Hicks

Ernest Hemingway's Advice

Listen now:
when people talk, listen
completely.

Don't be thinking
what you're going to say.

You should
be able to go
into a room and
when you leave
know everything
you saw.
Plus, if that room
gave you any feeling,
what was it
that gave you
that feeling?

Practice this.
