Enraptured Rose-Strewn Visions Poem by james watkin

Enraptured Rose-Strewn Visions

One damask petal falls. What
Winds from ancient sites
Need in holy union's
Fertility rites;
Or in worship of heroes
Gory, to revive!
Then she will not mistake his
Ovation-spilled drive!
'fore a Ceasar's sanction
With the slave behind.
Whose drummed " thou art but a man"
As clear heard inclined.
