vowed that you are my only lover... the only lover for me... who lives inside my heart... This is the epic, universal kind of love declaration that befits the song of a true philosopher personifying Wisdom and Goodness as a female person and dedicating his life to the pursuit of these highest values. Such a total devotion seems a brilliant indication of higher ideals being pursued, and the similes with human love illustrates the poet's awareness of the nature of human emotions. But the reader is apt to find meanings in poetry that may surprise the poet, so I hope my interpretation will be motivated enough to pass muster. Kind regards, Margaret.
