Ending It Poem by Ray Hansell

Ending It

Rating: 5.0

I read the paper the other day
A story how a girl took her life away
The paper just simply said
She put a bullet in her head

As I was about to put the paper down
I caught a glimpse of her name
I couldn't believe my eyes
I almost went insane

She had been a friend of mine
We once shared more than time
I still think of her often
Together we learned about love

She said, I was her closest friend
We vowed to be friends to the very end
When I was troubled or all alone
I could always get her on the phone

She would always lend an ear
When I had to shed a tear
It seems she was always near
To help chase away my fears

She was always there for me
No matter the time of day
But when she needed someone the most
That's when I was away

Going to her funeral was very hard to do
To see her lying in her casket
Many wondered why she did what she did
I said, it's a question that can't be answered
So why even ask it
